As I understand it, it's more of an architecture style than a protocol. As such, I don't see that we'd ever offer a prescription on how to so this in the core. The core has to be in opinionated and not rely too heavily on conventions

It would be great to see a conventional framework on top of Ratpack for this though by pulling parts together into a convention driven framework.

More than happy to discuss what makes sense to support at the core though.

Sure, it must not be a core.
Are you dealing with core only?
I thought to borrow some ideas from Spring HATEOAS. If they don't mind ;)

Not strictly, but that's the focus right now.

If someone wanted to start building out some conventional HATEOAS
support outside of the core source tree that would be very cool. I (and
the other developers) would be happy to help out with suggestions.
