build to build my own version of ratpack

paulhsu
Hi everyone,

I'm using ratpack to build a rest api server and would like to know
how to build my version of ratpack for debug purpose.

I already clone the code and using "./gradlew build" to build the whole source
but finally I got

---------------------------------------------
FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* What went wrong:
Execution failed for task ':ratpack-core:signArchives'.
> Cannot perform signing task ':ratpack-core:signArchives' because it has no configured signatory
-----------------------------------------------

Am I using the right command to build?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

It's failing to sign the built artifacts. It's failing because you haven't configured your system to be able to sign artifacts.

The easiest solution is just to remove this line: https://github.com/ratpack/ratpack/blob/3b5ff5c499d21d0f56e86819f09c08d7f2bd4946/gradle/publish.gradle#L45-L45
